How will you know if a provider and their staff/volunteers have completed the initial and annual training?

Providers and/or their staff/volunteers responsible for the supervision of children are required to meet the training requirements and must register with Opportunities in a Professional Network (OPEN) for a MOPD ID. Once a MOPD ID is assigned, individuals must then create a Toolbox account and sign up for the MOPD Registry in OPEN. Additionally, one person (usually the owner or Director) must also request Program Level Access and assign each staff member to the provider/facility DVN in OPEN. As staff is hired or leave, the owner or Director should add/remove staff MOPD ID to/from the facility DVN in OPEN. If your child care program does not have Program Level Access in OPEN, DSS cannot ensure compliance with the training requirements therefore this may delay the process of obtaining a contract or registration with the DSS. For annual trainings required each fiscal year, the hire date entered will be used to determine if the annual training requirement applies to a given staff/volunteer.
