When will my MO HealthNet coverage start and how much will it cost?

If you are eligible, most MO HealthNet programs coverage may start as early as three months before the month you apply.

Your household size and income determine the cost, if any, of individual MO HealthNet programs.

When your application is processed you will receive a letter. If you are eligible, the letter will tell you about your coverage, when the coverage starts, and if you must pay a premium.

Different programs have different processing times. You may expect to receive your letter based on the processing times below.

  • Please Note: Applications turned in with all appropriate verification attached can be processed more quickly. Federal and State laws allow Family Support Division staff time to process applications. The time allowed for processing is based on each individual program listed below:
    • Senior Applications can take up to 45 days.
    • Blind & Visually Impaired Applications can take up to 90 days.
    • Blind Pension Applications can take up to 90 days.
    • Disabled Applications can take up to 90 days.
    • Pregnant Women Applications can take up to 15 days.
    • Uninsured Women Applications can take up to 30 days.
    • Family Applications can take up to 30 days.
    • Kids Applications can take up to 30 days.
    • Women with Breast or Cervical Cancer Applications can take up to 30 days.
