Missouri law requires the Family Support Division (FSD) to ask Temporary Assistance (TA) applicants age 18 or older and who are head-of-household to answer questions about illegal drug use, which may lead to a drug test. If you refuse to answer these questions, you will be ineligible for Temporary Assistance benefits for yourself for three years.
TA recipients who are age 18 or older and the head of the household will also be matched with records from the Missouri Highway Patrol (MHP). If a match occurs, you will be referred to take a drug test.
More information about drug testing requirements for the Temporary Assistance Program, please review the Overview of the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Program.
